Ennea is a Japanese jewelry brand based in Kobe, Japan, by Junko Motoji.
Motoji began her career at a global licensing company, in the women’s accessories division, after her college years. Motoji always had an interest in accessories and had been making her own on her spare time, which later in her career was highly recognized by the company, leading to her promotion as a chief designer to oversee a French brand. Over the 8 years as a chief designer, her responsibilities included product planning & development to execution.
With the experiences she had achieved from working at the company, she then pursued her career as a designer for her own brand, Ennea in 2002.
Junko Motoji's inspirations for her designs come from architectures, histories, cultures, and sceneries from travelling and living abroad. Colorful gemstones are embellished in her pieces to express her inspirations.
Ennea's gemstones are handpicked by Motoji to be cut in specific ways for her delicate pieces. The original-style cut quartz covering the turquoise and lapis lazuli represent ripples, which makes the rings look as if you're peeking into a deep ocean.
